A bit of a longer story today about my efforts to get Normal Is Over The Movie off the ground. With the help of awesome volunteers of the Making of The Future Foundation, screenings and the Dutch Press. Normal Is Over is an award-winning documentary, made by a one-woman-band. me. I traveled the globe looking for SOLUTIONS to climate change, biodiversity loss, resource depletion, the widening gap between rich and poor, and the connection between all these issues.
We are already in the middle of a great transition.
For instance: Our city #CapeTown is world news. Our #water supply is dangerously close to running dry. Adjusting to life with much less water will be the ‘new normal’. https://www.nytimes.com/…/wo…/africa/cape-town-day-zero.html
Day Zero is looming. The abuse of our once free water is getting out of hand. People secretly washing their cars, are getting fines. People selling the last free drops from a bucket and then shrinkwrap it to make money. We need to see the big picture of why this is happening, as you don’t find this info in mainstream media. Hope people can join forces instead of fighting over water. We should be prepared to live with very little water for at least three months and possibly up to six months after Day Zero, but it all depends on when rain falls in the water source areas that feed the dams.
But there is also good news: This crisis can bring us together. We need to share the last drops equally. Many of us are all in a prepping state of mind. There are many ways to save & share water. We are building a composting toilet, a grey water system at home. The old chlorinator pool is converted into a natural pool with lilies and dragonflies, we will re-use rainwater, (when it comes) And people should not use precious drinking water for a golf course for instance(..), Will Desalination plants work? Can we take water from a polluted harbor?
In the Netherlands, my country of birth, I am happy to see that the media are starting to understand that there is a deeper message here which needs to be heard. I have been invited for a Q & A for lots of screenings that are being planned there.

-Dec. 2017 :National Dutch TV: I was so clever NOT to mention the film “Normal is Over”.. mmm, still learning to be a good speaker, I guess:) http://www.uitzendinggemist.net/aflevering/416153/Tijd_Voor_Max.html
#Climate change is here to stay. It’s a symptom of a deeper problem, we have to understand. So we can deal with the consequences, and not loose focus on the vision: a greener planet for future generations.
